About Sylvain Brochu
Sylvain Brochu is widely recognized as a compelling performer and inspiring teacher. Over the last 40 years he has worked with more than 40 choreographers; as a soloist, he has a repertoire of uncommon eclecticism.
Introduced to yoga as a child, Sylvain rediscovered it in the late 1980s and over the last 20 years has made it an integral part of his life. His students – in both dance and yoga – regard him as an inspiring and open-minded teacher.
In 2005 he was awarded a grant from the Dancer Transition Resource Centre to study Zen shiatsu. This powerful healing modality rounds out his devotion to what he refers to as Body Wisdom.
Sylvain's passionate approach to this three-fold practice, along with his pursuits as a singer, gardener, and builder, reflect his dedication to artful communication.
Originally from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Sylvain has lived in Montréal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Quebec city. He now resides in Gibsons on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.
